SALEM — Lindsay Huff’s goal and three saves by Abby Brackley boosted Mt. Abram to a 1-1 tie Wednesday with unbeaten Lisbon in MVC girls’ soccer.
Huff flagged down a pass from Katie Jordan and played through the defense for a one-on-one shot and a Roadrunners (2-4-1) lead with 26:38 remaining in the first half.
Hannah Martel gained possession off a deflection by Mt. Abram and notched the equalizer for the Greyhounds (5-0-2) with 14:35 left until intermission.
Hall-Dale 2, Oak Hill 0
FARMINGDALE —Thea Sweet scored a goal and set up another in the final 14 minutes of the first half Wednesday, hoisting Hall-Dale to a 2-0 MVC girls’ soccer victory over Oak Hill.
Sweet knocked home the game-winner courtesy of sister Dani Sweet. She gave the Bulldogs (4-3) added cushion with an assist of Signe Lynch.
Olivia Maynard made two saves for Hall-Dale. Meagan Crosby turned aside seven shots by Oak Hill (2-5).
Messalonskee 1, Oxford Hills 0
OAKLAND — Cassidy Charette scored 9:36 into the first half, assisted by Brianna Leonard, and it stood up as the winning margin in Messalonskee’s 1-0 KVAC girls’ soccer victory over Oxford Hills.
Sam Bickford made 11 saves for the Vikings (1-4-1). Taylor Easler matched that total for the victorious Eagles (3-3-1).
Field Hockey
Telstar 4, Boothbay 1
BETHEL —Becca Howard scored all four goals for Telstar in a 4-1 MVC field hockey victory Wednesday over Boothbay.
Natasha Hart and Sadie Ellsworth has assists for the Rebels (4-4). Nicole Labrecque notched the goal for Boothbay (3-4-1).
Howard tallied twice in the second half to help Telstar pull away. Meg Glover made seven saves to secure the win. Erica Eames stopped 12 shots for the Seahawks.
