1938 – 2014

DIXFIELD — William S. Elliott, 76, a lifelong resident of Dixfield, passed away Wednesday morning, Sept. 24, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Bill was born on July 24, 1938, a son of Stanwood and Dorothy (Bennett) Elliott. He received his education in Dixfield schools and graduated from Dirigo High School. On May 5, 1956, Bill married his high school sweetheart, Carolyn (Waterhouse), and together they shared 53 wonderful years of marriage, before her passing in 2009.

Bill was employed as a sales representative for Humpty Dumpty for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting (especially duck), fishing and being on the water at his beloved family camp on Richardson Lake.

He was a member of Webb River Valley Sportsmen’s Club, a Mason of the King Hiram Masonic Lodge No. 57 and had been a member of Dixfield Congregational Church for several decades. He thoroughly enjoyed giving his time to others and being involved in different community events, especially with the Sportsmen’s Club.

Bill had an outgoing personality, with an incredible sense of humor and had the unique ability to befriend anyone. He was certainly loved by all.
