Breakfast at Morning Star Lodge
LITCHFIELD — A public breakfast will be held from 7 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at Morning Star Lodge, Hallowell Road, across from the fire station.
The cost is $6 per person or $20 cap per family. Menu includes eggs, pancakes, sausage, bacon, toast, coffee, juice and more.

Girls and adults are invited to attend the meeting to find out about the many different and fun ways today’s girls are participating in Girl Scouting and how the programs and activities inspire them to reach their personal best. Participants will also learn about the flexible options and benefits of becoming a Girl Scout volunteer.

Hands-on cooking class for kids
LEWISTON — Kids2Kids, a free, hands-on cooking class for kids ages 8 and up, will be held Monday, Sept. 29, at The Ark on Lisbon Street.
The class features Sienna Mazone, state of Maine winner for the Kids Healthy Cooking Contest sponsored by Michelle Obama.
Mazone will present a hands-on bread baking class. Participants will make their own loaf of bread and sample some healthy sandwich recipes, including a gluten-free option. Sienna will also be sharing about her exciting trip to the White House.

Meet the Masters painting class
GRAY — Meet the Masters six-week session will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursdays starting Oct. 2, at Fiddlehead Art & Science Center, 25 Shaker Road. The cost is $149.
Learn to paint from a different work by Matisse, Chagall, Seurat, Cezanne, O’keeffe and Bonnard, one each week.
Demos will be led by Rochelle Draper on the techniques of working in acrylics on canvas using the vibrant colors of each of the masters pallet. In addition to learning about each master, students will bring their own piece of artwork home.
Bean supper at Danville Grange
AUBURN — A bean and casserole supper will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Danville Grange Hall.
Cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children.
A game party will take place at 7 p.m.
Suppers are held the first Saturday of each month through May 2, 2015.
Woodmen member appreciation day
LEWISTON — Modern Woodmen will be saying “thank you” to
their members again this year with a Member Appreciation Day free barbecue from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Modern Woodmen Office, 184 Webster St.

Bean, spaghetti supper in Pownal
POWNAL — The North Pownal United Methodist Church, 851 Lawrence Road, will hold a public baked bean and spaghetti supper from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4.
The Food Pantry at the Church will be accepting non-perishable foods or monetary donations for their food pantry at this supper. All donations will be greatly appreciated.
The menu will include three kinds of beans, spaghetti with meat sauce, potato salad, coleslaw, biscuits and brown bread, pickled beets and assorted homemade pies. Knights plan bean, casserole supper
SABATTUS — The Knights of Columbus of the Our Lady of the Rosary Parish will sponsor a baked beans and casserole supper from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at Maxwell-Gill Hall, adjacent to Our Lady of the Rosary, 131 High St.
Proceeds will benefit parish programs.

TURNER — A showing of a “North Woods Law” episode will take from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, on the green at the Turner Public Library, 98 Matthews Way.

Book sale, breakfast, boutique in Wayne
WAYNE — Stop by the Williams House, 17 Old Winthrop Road, on Saturday, Oct. 4, anytime between 9 a.m. and noon for a morning break.
