1929 – 2014

AUBURN — Alfred J. Parise, 85, of Auburn, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 24, at Clover Health Care, following a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Alfred and his twin brother, Albert, were born on April 3, 1929, in Lewiston, the sons of the late Frank and Louise (Baril) Parise. He attended local schools, before going to work in the area’s shoe industry for many years. He then went to work for Auburn Housing Authority, a job he truly loved, before retiring.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish.

Al is survived by his daughter, Debbie Parise, of Lewiston; a son, Steven Parise, of Florida; a granddaughter, Debbie St. Onge, of Auburn; two sisters, Jeannette Poussard of Auburn and Rita Brousseau of Lewiston; two brothers, Martin Parise of Florida and Jerry Howard of Westbrook; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Florence; and his brothers, Francis, Joseph and Albert.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Clover Health Care for caring for Al during the past five years.
