1942 – 2014

AUBURN — Linda Fiorinda Maria Leone, 71, a resident of Auburn and formerly of New York, N.Y., died Tuesday, Sept. 23, at the Hospice House, following a long illness.

She was born in Manhattan, N.Y., on Nov. 26, 1942, a daughter of Raymond N. and Anne D’Aiuto Leone.

Linda was most proud of going to Rome with others for two years at the request of Pope John Paul II to set up a drug rehabilitation center.

Survivors include one sister, Marianne Damon and husband, Carl, of Poland; one brother, Raymond Leone and wife, Angela, of McLean, Va.; niece, Linda Swallow and husband, Albert, and their daughters, Alexandra and Staci, of South Portland; niece, Maria Masselli and husband, Thomas, and their children, Kelsey and Domonic, of Falmouth; niece, Gena Leone, of Nashville, Tenn.; and a nephew, Raymond Brown, of Auburn.

Many thanks from Linda’s family for the loving and wonderful care she received at the Hospice House during her stay.
