During election season, there are many candidates and complicated issues to consider. Some decisions are difficult, but the easiest decision that I will make this November is to vote for Sen. Susan Collins.

I respect her work ethic, objective thinking and commitment to Maine. She has shown great leadership ability during politically contentious times, such as spearheading the effort to reopen government. She has supported heating assistance for low-income residents and weatherization efforts, which are salient issues for Mainers. She has secured funding for research and development for alternative energy sources in Maine. She also authored legislation to protect U.S. citizens from cybersecurity attacks and strengthen port security.

The lady from Caribou has remained loyal to Maine throughout her service. She is a role model to me and I hope to be as bold as she is one day.

I support Susan Collins for Senate.
