FARMINGTON —
Alba’s Edge explores the common ground between the expressive melodies of Scotland, hypnotic rhythms of Latin America, dance grooves of funk and improvisations and harmonies of jazz.
The Franklin County Fiddlers, led by orchestra teacher and Acadian fiddler Steve Muise, is a multi-stylistic group that embodies the joyful energy and community spirit of traditional fiddle music from numerous traditions. As part of this event the Fiddlers have had the chance to work with and learn from members of Alba’s Edge and the groups will collaborate on a few pieces at the show.
A donation of $10 per person or $25 per family is suggested, with part of the proceeds going to the Fiddlers in order to fund their travel plans. For more information, email [email protected]
- Internationally acclaimed Celtic-Latin-jazz group Alba’s Edge will join forces with Mt. Blue High School’s Franklin County Fiddlers for an evening of music at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, in the school’s Forum Room.
