ANDOVER — The Ellis River Riders are wrapping up its 2014 show season. Activities included organized trail rides, pleasure/equitation, gymkhana, versatility, barrel racing and two fundraisers dear to the club’s membership.

Three more important events will round out the year.

The annual fundraiser Fun Show will be on Saturday, Oct. 11. This class list is different than the group’s traditional gymkhana games. Classes will be $5 for members and $7 for nonmembers. Ribbons will be awarded by class and specially filled gift bags will be presented to champions/reserve champions.

A crockpot-style lunch will be held in the middle of the day. For more information, visit www.ellisriverriders.com.

A fall weekend of versatility and trail riding will take place on Saturday, Oct. 18, with a versatility clinic in the morning followed by a trail challenge in the afternoon with clinician/judge Debbie Little of Horse & Rider Connection.

A barbecue lunch will be available.

Participants can join in all three parts of the day or pick and choose. For more information on the divisions, cost and entry, go to www.ellisriverriders.com and the events page. Participation is guaranteed with payment.

The clinic has room for a few more riders and the challenge has room for unlimited entries.

Prizes will be awarded for costumes and a $5 crockpot-style lunch will be available. Lunch is open to everyone, not just riders.

Contact Pam at capecodpam@gmail.com for more information. Event updates are on the website and the group’s Facebook page.

This event is a fundraiser for the American Lung Association. All donations will go with the team of firefighters from Western Maine going to Boston to climb 789 stairs in full gear for everyone’s Right to Breathe Easier.

The last hurrah of the season will be the annual end-of-the-year celebration with all members, the public, friends and family, to be held at 49 Franklin in Rumford. More details will be available soon.
