WILTON — Two people were injured Friday morning when the car they were in and a pickup truck collided at the intersection of Route 2 and Maxwell Road.

A truck driven by Craig Viotto, 67, of Jay, was coming off Main Street going across Route 2 to Maxwell Road and failed to yield to an oncoming car driven by Krishna Kadaveru, 32, of Avon, Conn., that was headed east on Route 2 toward Farmington, Wilton police Sgt. Chad Abbott said.

The truck collided with the Prius, he said.

Kadaveru was taken by ambulance to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington. A left, rear passenger in his vehicle, his mother-in-law Sikha Ghosh, age and residence unknown, received a head injury and was taken by ambulance to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, Abbott said.

Firefighters had to remove the doors from the Prius to get Ghosh out.

Kadaveru’s wife, Sonali Ghosh, 33, and her father, Sunil Kumar, age and residence town unknown, were not injured, he said. Ghosh’s parents are believed to be visiting from another country.
