I would like to make the community aware of the wonderful volunteerism to be found in this community.

On Sept. 12, the United Way of Androscoggin County held its annual “Day of Caring,” in which several employees from many local companies volunteered their time to provide services to nonprofit agencies, such as Sandcastle Clinical and Educational Services.

It was with great pleasure that we at Sandcastle were able to host Proctor & Gamble employees once again this year. We had certain tasks that we hoped could be accomplished, which included painting several rooms and outdoor equipment, plus gardening and yard work.

It was totally amazing the amount of work that those people did in a short amount of time. They provided many “extras” and went way beyond our expectations in all areas. They made Sandcastle shine, inside and out.
