FARMINGTON — A second annual Cut-A-Thon, sponsored by the United Way of the Tri-Valley Area, will take place from 12 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at four local salons.

All proceeds from the event benefit the United Way fund for programs around Greater Franklin County.

Area stylists will donate their time and expertise to cut hair. They will provide a shampoo, cut and blow-dry for $20 during the Cut-A-Thon.

Participating salons in Farmington include Snippers, 226 McCrillis Corner Road, 779-1144; Hair Razor, 600 Wilton Road, 778-4900; Medulla Hair Studio, 108 Fairbanks Road, 778-0778; and Silver Shears, 399 Wilton Road, 778-9795.

Volunteers will be on hand to share information about the United Way.

Appointment times are expected to fill up quickly, so those wanting to get their hair cut for a great cause should call to get their preferred time slot.

Each salon also has some fun planned. If you have any questions, please call the United Way office at 207-778-5048.
