RUMFORD — The Hope Association will host a pancake breakfast and craft fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, as part of the River Valley Rotary Club’s Oktoberfest celebration.

Hope Association employee Sally Theriault said the proceeds will be split between the two groups.

“The Rotary Club uses their half of the proceeds to build up their scholarship fund,” Theriault said. “We use our half to help support our group with anything they need.”

Theriault said the pancake breakfast will be from 8 to 10 a.m. and local maple syrup will be available.

A lunch of pizza and apple crisp is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The food is being cooked by the Rotary Club, Theriault said.

There will be over 25 crafters, including vendors selling herbs, jewelry, hand-knitted items, baked foods and Christmas items.

“We get different people and groups in the area to rent out tables to showcase whatever they want,” Theriault said. “This year, the Consumer Council of Maine and the Oxford County Democrats will have a table set up.”

The Rotary Club will also have a book fair with over 100 titles to choose from.
