WILTON — The Tyngtown Tee Time was held Aug. 23 at the Wilson Lake Country Club. This was the fifth year of the fundraiser for the Tyngtown Club of Wilton.
Golfers and picnic attendees enjoyed a beautiful day. After a breakfast of doughnuts, scones and apples, the scrambles event kicked off with a bagpiper sendoff by Aiden Underwood.
The winners were:
Lowest Gross: John Cureton, Nancy Stowell, Linda and John Wentzell
Lowest Net: Pete Chamberlain, Lewi Chamberlain, Bruce Ibarguen and Dave Haeger
Closest to pin: Lewi Chamberlain
Longest Drive Men: John Cureton
Longest Drive Ladies: Linda Wentzell
Putting Contest: Pete Benson
Raffles and putting contests were conducted during the morning. A delicious lunch was served by the Tyngtown ladies under the tents that the Boy Scouts and husbands had helped to set up. The Rogers brothers, Silas and Nolan, once again delighted the guests with their string music sponsored by Nancy Cureton.
The TTT committee consisted of Zetta Wojcik, Trish Flint, Kelly Weigle Karen Lawson, Sarah Chamberlain, Robin Bragg, Wendy Pomeroy, Chris Cox, Nancy Cureton , Joan Haeger and Paulette Cahn.
There were many hands behind the scenes in the cooking, setting up and taking down.
The fundraiser benefited the library, Wilton Early Childhood Center, downtown flowers children’s programs and scholarships.
