The graphite drawings are the realization of a wildly vivid, creative mind strongly influenced by science fiction and executed with controlled perfection. Callahan’s artistic influences of comic books, northern European old masters, and icons and religious art are demonstrated in this collection.

Callahan is well known in Maine as a museum preparator for Bates College, University for New England, Museum L/A, and many private art collectors. He has deep roots in the Maine art community. A Maine native, he is a graduate of The Portland School of Art (now Maine College of Art). He has worked as a metalsmith, as well as a fine art framer.
