“Getting the job to do ‘Mark Trail’ is truly a lifelong dream come true for me. I had tutored under Jack Elrod since 2004. During that time, I began to look around the Web to see what readers were saying. I began to notice recurring themes: Mark promises to take Rusty fishing but never does, Mark is never at home nor does he spend time with Cherry, etc.

“So I thought it might not be a bad idea if, between adventures, Mark invested in a little ‘family time’ (for just a couple of days) before the next adventure begins. I assure you, his regular adventures will continue. He’ll continue to bust poachers and keep an eye on conservation issues, and I hope you’ll appreciate just a brief bit of ‘insight’ into his personal life every now and then.”

DEAR SUN SPOTS: What is the story on Kelly LaBrecque? She quit on Channel 6 to go into public relations in the health field and now she appears on Channel 13.

Is there anyone who sells or makes ceramics locally? Thanks. — Pat, Bethel

In researching a previous question about repairing ceramics, Sun Spots called Carville Ceramics in Lisbon, which has supplies and equipment, and was referred to a local ceramics teacher, Patty Doucette, who also does some custom work.

You can reach Patty at 783-6709 in the evenings. She said not to leave a message with her husband, because she probably wouldn’t get it. You can leave a message on their answering machine.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I read and enjoy your column every day. After reading about penmanship I decided to write with an example of mine.

I am 79 years old and learned Palmer method of penmanship when I was 5 or 6 years old in a two-room schoolhouse in rural Maine. — No Name, Bridgton

ANSWER: Looks pretty perfect to Sun Spots.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Would anybody have a 1957 Lewiston High School yearbook for sale? — 784-8382

ANSWER: Readers have suggested that anyone searching for a yearbook should contact their high school first.

Another reader suggested classmates.com, which buys old yearbooks and resells them. Those without computers can ask for help at the library.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I am planning a family reunion for Nov. 23 in memory of my mother (Florence Corey) and all other Keene family members who have passed.

That includes anyone related to Harold Frank Keene Sr. (my grandfather) born May 14, 1907, in Buckfield, died Oct. 15, 1995, and Dorothy Flora Rollins (my grandmother) born March 19, 1911, died Oct. 18, 1991. Both are buried at Penley Corner Cemetery.

My grandfather was also married to Jeanne Beaulieu, Sept. 21, 1958.

I would like everyone to bring or send pictures that has name, birthday, mother and father. I would like to start albums to go along with our family history. I hope to coordinate with others to put all this together.

If you’d like to put together a collage, that would be nice also. Thank you. — Sandra Greaton, Auburn, 207-783-6431, sgreaton@roadrunner.com
