Like his opponent, John Cleveland is a good listener, intelligent and motivated to serve his constituents. However, he also has the experience and maturity to fully understand the complexities of varying viewpoints.
When I have discussed legislative issues with him, he not only acknowledges my point of view, but also carefully takes the time to fully explain the reasoning of those who would disagree. He does not see only two sides, rather, he makes every attempt to understand multiple viewpoints, evaluate available facts and find common ground as a basis for legislative action.
His votes are based upon thorough study that evaluates possible unintended negative consequences as well as the obvious positive intentions of the proposed legislation.
John Cleveland is not a party ideologue, but a thoughtful caring representative of all his constituents.
