The Mechanic Falls, Minot and Poland Tri-Town Optimist Club had announced its October RSU 16 Student of the Month recipient, Sophie Patenaude. Sophie, a sixth-grader at Poland Community School and member of her school’s leadership team, embodies what it means to be a student leader. A well-rounded student, she goes above and beyond in her endeavors, striving to reach her personal best, both academically and in her activities and interests. She considers the feelings and needs of those around her and works to instill confidence in others. Sophie, left, is pictured with Club President Jeff Gagnon.
