1950 – 2014

NORWAY — Bruce W. Fox, 64, of Norway, died unexpectedly on Thursday morning, Oct. 30, at his home.

He was born on April 28, 1950, in North Conway, N.H., a son of H. Walter and Beverly (Grover) Fox Jr. He graduated from Oxford Hills High School in 1969, and went on to graduate from what was known as Central Maine Vocational Technical Institute in Lewiston in 1971.

Bruce spent virtually his entire working life at Maine Machine Products Co., in South Paris; he was employed there for over 40 years and was currently a floor manager.

He was on Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School’s Technical School’s board of directors, served as the mentor to Maine Machine’s Scholarship Program recipients and volunteered countless hours over the years to the Norway Recreation Department, particularly the ice rink.

Bruce was passionate about stock car racing, both at the local and national levels. He had the good fortune of traveling to nearly all of the major NASCAR tracks in the U.S., and built many engines over the years for numerous Oxford Plains Speedway drivers. He equally loved golf and enjoyed playing anywhere and anytime he could.

He leaves behind his wife and best friend, Nancy J. Maglione, of Norway; seven children, Richard Fox of Greenwood, Malanie Montagna and her husband, Michael, of Bethel, Ryan Fox and his wife, Bethany, of Lisbon, Angie Farrar of West Paris, Ashley Fox of Hartford, Stephanie R. Hayes of Norway and Raymond E. Hayes and his wife, Cerissa, of Antioch, Calif.; nine grandchildren; siblings, Brent Fox and his wife, Mel, of Greene and Jeanene Mederios and her husband, Tommy, of Fall River, Mass.; and “second parents,” Willie and Chris Buffington, of South Paris.

He was predeceased by his father, Walter, on July 7, 2013; and his mother, Beverly, on Jan. 21, 2014.
