I am writing in support of Sen. John Cleveland for Senate District 20. That includes the towns of New Gloucester, Poland, Mechanic Falls, Minot and Auburn.
Cleveland has proven to be a hard worker for the district while serving as Senate chair on the Legislature’s Energy, Utilities and Technology Committee and as a member of the Labor, Commerce, Research and Economic Development Committee.
At the recent candidates’ forum in New Gloucester, it was clear that he understands how to work with people of varying viewpoints on long-term goals for Maine. And his strong view on illegal immigration and welfare fraud is firm — no one should get illegal or unfair advantage.
He worked hard to make prescription drugs and health care more affordable last term.
Re-electing him will again give the district someone who will work well with the new governor.
I support Sen. John Cleveland on Tuesday, Nov. 4.
David Hilton, New Gloucester
