“There’s one thing you can be sure of is that the sun is going to rise and that Darlene Fortin was going to take care of business.”
Those were the words of Richard Greene, the program director at Pennacook Learning Center, about Fortin’s dedication as secretary there over 35 years, including 26 years when it was home to Virginia Elementary School.
Fortin, 55, has decided to retire. Last Friday was her last day. Just prior to that, a breakfast was held at the school where employees of Pennacook Learning Center and others presented Fortin with a personalized signed card, gift cards and flowers.
