CPR, first aid class on Saturday

OXFORD — A CPR and first aid class will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Oxford Public Safety Building.

Instruction will include basic first aid, CPR for adults, children and infants and use of an automated external defibrillator.

On completion of the one-day class, a two-year certification in accordance with the American Heart Association will be given. The certification is accepted for day/childcare providers, loggers, guides, teachers and any other non-healthcare related professions.

Call to confirm the date. Groups may request to schedule a class at their convenience. Healthcare BLS CPR recertifications are done as needed one-on-one.

Duplicate bridge winners listed

OXFORD — Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met Oct. 31 in the Recreation Building, King Street, when an eight-and-half-table Mitchell movement was played.

Finishing first in flight A N/S were Mike Quinn, Otisfield, and Mike True, Auburn; second, Misha Tomic, Waterford, and Les Buzzell, Auburn; third, Pete Cummings, South Paris, and Dick Allen, New Gloucester; fourth, Eleanor and Lindy Wigton, Lewiston, who also were first in flight B.

Second in flight B N/S/ were Milt McKeen, Bridgton, and Jim Krainin, Naples, who also were first in flight C; third in B, Cindy and Bob Kirchherr, South Paris, who also were second in flight C; fourth in B, Bunny Banks, Windham, and Barbara Newcomb, Portland.

Finishing first in flight A E/W were Rosemarie Goodwin, Lewiston, and Luke Merry, Windham; second, Hazel Glazier, Norway, and Rick Verrill, Gorham, who also were first in flight B; third, Mary Colbath, Waterford, and Barbara Vanderzanden, Norway, who also were first in flight C; fourth in A, Cathy Sanderson, Waterford, and Carol Curran, Waterford, who also were third in B and second in C.

Third in flight C E/W were Hank Sakrison, Poland, and Denny Raymond, Waterford; fourth, BJ and Steve Cavicchi, Bridgton.
