1922 – 2014

NORWAY — Charles “Louie” Morse, 92, formerly of Hill Street in South Paris, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 4, at the Norway Center for Health and Rehabilitation.

He was born in Norway on Sept. 17, 1922, a son of C. Lindsey and Claribelle Morse. He attended local school in Norway and joined the U.S. Army in 1940, serving at Pearl Harbor during World War II. On June 22, 1946, he married Barbara Swift; they were married for 38 years, before her passing in 1984.

Louie had many hobbies over the years: building boats, flying his own T-Craft — which he rebuilt, photography, fishing and camping. He enjoyed golf and had two holes-in-one at Paris Hill Country Club.

He was employed many years for Wiles Auto Body Shop and Ripley & Fletcher.

Louie is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Dorothea and Paul Daniels, of Jefferson; brothers, Clayton and wife, Althea, and J. Daniel Morse; and nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Paul; a sister, Evangeline Child; his wife, Barbara; and his parents, Lindsey and Claribelle.

The family wishes to thank all of his caregivers at the Norway Center; you are all very special.
