1939 – 2014

LEWISTON — Harvey Joseph Poussard, 75, a longtime resident of Lewiston, died Sunday, Nov. 2, following a long illness, with family by his side. He was cared for by his daughter, Sandy, and her husband, Bill Brooks, in Lewiston.

He was born in Wales on June 7, 1939, a son of Honore J. Poussard and Marie J. St. Pierre. He attended school in Wales and entered the U.S. Army in 1956.

He worked a number of different jobs in Lewiston and surrounding areas. He became a jack-of-all-trades, for which he was known.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, the New York Yankees and Miami Dolphins, and bird- and squirrel-watching. He loved sharing stories and always made time to help others.

Surviving are his siblings: two brothers, Paul Poussard of New Hampshire and Henry Poussard of Maine; one sister, Pauline Gagnon of New Hampshire; four children: sons, Harvey A. Poussard and wife, Catherine and Danny A. Poussard and companion, Terri; daughters, Diane Poussard and Sandy Brooks and husband, Bill, all of Lewiston; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents; his ex-wife, Jacqueline Poussard; sister, Connie Knowles; and great-granddaughter, Riley Poussard.
