LEWISTON — A Mass of Christian Burial for Gerard T. Thibodeau was celebrated on Wednesday, Nov. 5, in the upper church of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, following prayers at Dostie Funeral Home.

Monsignor Marc Caron and the Rev. Aaron Damboise concelebrated the Mass, and Monsignor Caron recited committal prayers at St. Peter’s Cemetery mausoleum. Members of the Maine Honor Guard played taps and folded and presented the U.S. flag to Gerard’s daughter, Lisa Labonte, in honor of his service to his country.

Pallbearers were his four grandsons, Justin Labonte, Matthew Labonte, Christian Labonte and Gabriel Labonte, along with Robert Vallee and Ron Ouellette.
