READFIELD — Police have released the identity of the man killed in a single-vehicle accident on Plains Road on Tuesday.
According to the Kennebec Journal, the deceased passenger was Alex Cruz, 26, of Connecticut.
The other two men, Thorr Ellis, 20, of Gardiner, who was the driver, and Bradley Plevyak, 19, suffered broken bones and internal injuries, Chief Deputy Ryan Reardon of the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office said
The accident occurred shortly before 5 p.m. near box 228, according to Reardon. Ellis was driving north and apparently swerved to avoid a deer, and the vehicle spun out of control, struck a large boulder and sheared off a tree, Reardon said.
The vehicle came to rest on its roof in the woods, Reardon said.
