1940 – 2014

GRAY — Robert (Bob) Lewis Tibbetts Sr. of Gray passed suddenly Thursday, Nov. 6, while doing what he loved the most, feeding his cows.

He was born Aug. 17, 1940.

Bob retired from New England Feed at the age of 65 after delivering feed for years.

As a youth, Bob enjoyed racing stock cars at Oxford Plains Speedway and was inducted into the Maine Motor Sports Hall of Fame in April 2014.

Bob was a member of the Masonic Order Cumberland Lodge No. 12. Bob was a Past Patron Golden Sheaf 115 OES. He was also a past president of the Maine Angus Association as well as past president of the Maine Beef Producers. He also served as president of the Gray Little League.

Bob is survived by his wife, Barbara, of 47 years, who resides in Gray. He also leaves behind three children, Rhonda T. Copp of Charlotte, N.C., Robert (Bobby) L., Tibbetts Jr. of Auburn and Richard L. Tibbetts of Gray; seven grandchildren, Ryan, Mathew and Patrick Copp, T.J. and Sophie Tibbetts and Victoria and Elizabeth Tibbetts; brother, George Tibbetts; sister Clara Monroe.
