Turner Elementary School, Maine’s 2014 National Blue Ribbon School, held the second annual PBIS Community Night on Sept. 18. The Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) team reinforces positive student behaviors in an effort to increase student behavioral awareness and academic achievements. Throughout the night live music was played by Veggies by Day. Carnival food, face-painting, games and the production of gigantic bubbles added to the celebration. A team member provided the community with information about the strategies used at school and on the bus to increase positive student behaviors.
