- Students from Poland Community School, from left, Isaac Roy, Haley Rose, Brayden Gurney and Jordyn Kohtala, far right, help Peter Drews D.D.S., carry Halloween candy into Drews’ dental office in Lewiston on Monday. Alan Tibbetts also helped. Students collected 150 pounds of donated candy from their classmates and delivered it to Drews, who will pass it along to American troops through Operation Gratitude. “We wanted troops to get a piece of home,” said sixth-grader Brayden Gurney. Drews donated $1 for each pound of candy. The money will be used for Student Leadership Team projects, guidance counselor Lexie Triggiani said.
