1928 – 2014

MEXICO — Leo F. Maillet, 85, died on Monday, Nov. 10, at his residence in Mexico.

Leo was born in Rumford, on Nov. 12, 1928, the son of Raymond and Philomene (Bourque) Maillet. He was a graduate of Mexico High School.

Leo and his late wife, Ida, owned and operated Maillet’s Twist Treat Dairy Queen. He also worked for 25 years at Oxford Paper Company in the lab and stock room, then he owned and operated Maillet’s Paving for many years before retiring.

He was married in Rumford on Oct. 27, 1947, to Ida Lefebvre who died in Mexico on March 25, 2010.

Survivors include a son, Lee Maillet and his wife, Diane, of Hallowell; two daughters, Rita Bolduc and her husband, Gil, of Mexico and Nancy Flick and her husband, Ray, of Turner; four grandchildren, Kristine Markuns of Massachusetts, Leo P. Bolduc of Byron, Chad Arsenault of Turner, and Stephanie Maillet of Massachusetts; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Edmund Maillet and his wife, Elaine, of Mexico and Florida.

He was predeceased by his parents; his wife; a brother, Philip Maillet; and a sister, Irene Dorr.
