PORTLAND — A Maine government survey says the average statewide cash price for heating oil dropped 3 cents in the past week.
The Governor’s Energy Office says the average price according to the Nov. 10 survey was $3.09. The average kerosene price of $3.65 was down 3 cents from the previous week. Propane prices held steady at $2.82. Heating oil averaged $3.52 per gallon a year ago at this time, while kerosene dropped 28 cents in that time and propane rose 9 cents.
The highest price for heating oil was found in central Maine, where prices topped out at $3.40. The lowest price was in southwest Maine, where the low mark was $2.74.
