Thornton Academy’s football is seeking another game with Lewiston High, as the York county eleven were very much dissatisfied not only with the scoreless tie at Lewiston, last Saturday, but also with the way the game was conducted. An article in the Biddeford Daily Journal said: “The exhibition of the referee in the game between Thornton and Lewiston high at Lewiston, Saturday afternoon, will go down in history as the rankest ever put up by an official in a school contest in the state. The man either does not know the rules of the game or else he did not want the contest played as it should be. It was simply a case of the members of the Lewiston high school team running the game to suit themselves, and they certainly did it to the queen’s taste.

Developers presented a proposal to construct nearly 100 “upper scale” apartments overlooking the city’s Webber Avenue reservoir to Lewiston city councilors Tuesday evening before the council’s formal meeting. Lewiston developer Denis Latulippe said the four apartment buildings, ranging from five to seven stories in height, would house 96 two-bedroom apartments, renting for between $800 and $1,200 per month. He said they may decide to make the top two floors of each building into larger penthouse apartments. He said the apartments, to be called Mountainview Towers, would cater to young professionals and older residents rather than families, and could serve more than just the Lewiston area because of the proximity to the Turnpike.
