1925 – 2014

AUBURN — Maria Andrianos, 89, of Auburn, died Saturday, Nov. 15, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Atchioholos, Greece, on Aug. 1, 1925, a daughter of the late Athanasius and Athanasia Tsoustanis. She married John Andrianos on Nov. 11, 1949, and he predeceased her in August 1975.

She was a very talented seamstress; she could make just about anything. She worked for Park Street Dress Shop and later for Falcon Shoe.

Maria was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, where she was very involved in all church functions and was a member of the Ladies Society.

She was very proud of her Greek heritage and passed it on to her family. She enjoyed cooking Greek food, especially Diples, a Greek pastry, that no one could duplicate. She also enjoyed feeding people and embroidering.

She leaves her daughter, Dina Medouris of Lewiston; two grandchildren, Michael Medouris and wife, Deanne, of N. Kingstown, R.I., and Theodora Medouris-Hartford and husband, Jeremy, of Portland; a great-grandson, Jackson Angelo Medouris; two sisters, Sophia Tragus and Panayoula Koumoutsos, both of Greece; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her son, Angelo Andrianos;, two sisters, Pleko and Hari; and a brother, John.
