1955 – 2014

LEWISTON — Nancy Lou (Giasson) Rioux, 59, a lifelong resident of Lewiston, died Saturday, Nov. 15.

She was born in Lewiston on July 21, 1955, the daughter of the late Romeo and Donetta (Cyr) Giasson. She graduated from Lewiston High School in 1974 and married, Laurier C. Rioux, on Dec. 14, 1974.

Nancy was an avid fan of both the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. Her family remembers Nancy as always being “the life of the party.” At family gatherings, she will be dearly missed. Nancy was a loving mother to her two sons, Christopher and Matthew, and especially devoted as a caregiver to Matthew, who is autistic.

She is survived by her husband of 39 years and her two sons, all of Lewiston; her sisters Joan Mahon and her husband, Guy, and Carol White-St. Pierre and her husband, Dan; her brother, Ron Giasson and his wife, Joanne; her sister-in-law, Kathy Giasson, all of Auburn; a brother, Ron Faucher and his wife, Dusti, of Hobe Sound, Fla.; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her brother, James Giasson; and her brothers-in-law, Larry White and Paul Rioux; and mother and father-in-law Emile and Lorette Rioux.
