1947 – 2014

SABATTUS — Susan F. Begin, 67, of Sabattus, died on Saturday morning, Nov. 15, at her residence following a short illness.

She was born in Lewiston, on April 19, 1947, the daughter of the late Rosaire and Marie (Ouellette) Tardiff and had been a resident of this community all of her life.

She was educated in Lewiston schools and attended Lewiston High School.

Susan enjoyed gardening, feeding the birds, reading and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was a parishioner of Holy Family Church.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Leo J. Begin, whom she married on July 4, 1964, of Sabattus; one son, John Begin and his wife, Tina, of Sabattus; two daughters, Annette Masselli and her husband, Joseph, of Lewiston and Sherie Daigle and her husband, Kevin, of Brunswick; four grandchildren, Justin and Nathan Begin, Bronte Fontaine and Melina Masselli; three great-grandchildren, Madison, Bennie and Cooper Begin; two brothers, Gerard Tardiff and his wife, Sandy, of Hartford, and David Tardiff of Wales; two sisters, Sally Tardiff of Cambridge, Mass., and Lilly Conley and her husband, Peter, of Lewiston; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister, Jeannette Tardiff; and a brother, Daniel Tardiff.
