Methodist Women plan Christmas sale

PARIS — The United Methodist Women’s Christmas sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, at Deering Memorial United Methodist Church.

Items will include crafts, baked goods, Rada knives, Christmas gifts and Mrs. Claus’ Closet.

Senior luncheon at Anderson Staples

OXFORD — On Tuesday, Nov. 25, a senior luncheon will be held at the post home of Anderson Staples Post 112 on King Street.

The festivities will begin at noon. There will be music, cards and door prizes.

Anyone is invited to attend. A small donation will be accepted.

SUMNER — On Wednesday, Nov. 26, The Congregational Church of East Sumner, 50 Main St., will have a Thanksgiving Eve meal at 6 p.m. and a service at 7 p.m.

Free community Thanksgiving dinner

NORWAY — Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish invites all community members who may otherwise be alone for the holiday to attend the Community Thanksgiving Dinner at noon Thursday, Nov. 27, in the hall at St. Catherine of Sienna Church, 32 Paris St.

The free dinner will include turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, vegetables and homemade pies for dessert.

The event, which began decades ago, was the idea of a St. Catherine of Sienna parishioner who knew several people planning to spend Thanksgiving alone.

The traditional dinner will be prepared and served by parishioners at St. Catherine of Sienna Church and Christ Episcopal Church.

Last Town Hall Dance for 2014

LOCKE MILLS — The last Town Hall Dance for 2014 will be held from 7 to 10 .m. Friday, Nov. 28, at the Locke Mills Town Hall.

The Shadagee Ramblers will perform.

There is no admission fee, but donations will be accepted for the Building Repair Fund.
