OXFORD — A 16-year-old accidentally shot with a handgun continues to recover at a Portland hospital, police said Tuesday. 

The Oxford Police Department is investigating the shooting that occurred Sunday, Lt. Michael Ward said. Police have not released additional information about the incident because they have not interviewed the boy’s parents, who are by his bedside at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Ward said.
