WINDHAM — Riding To The Top Therapeutic Riding Center raised over $105,000 during the 7th annual Triple B ~ Boots, Band and BBQ to benefit RTT riders — children and adults with disabilities — and the center’s therapeutic horses.

This year’s Triple B celebrated “The Year of the Horse” in recognition of the vital role of RTT’s equine partners. The evening’s keynote speaker, Lesley Foley, is the mother of a current rider. “RTT is changing the world by helping people become better, happier, more independent and more fulfilled people,” Foley said.

Linda Baker, a local special education teacher, RTT board member and Triple B committee member, has attended many of the previous Triple B events and said “I have always been amazed by those who are involved with this organization. The volunteers, instructors, administration and even the horses, are a constant source of inspiration. I absolutely love being a part of this fantastic organization.”

The Triple B has raised well over $500,000 in support of RTT’s programs since the event was introduced seven years ago.

According to Executive Director Sarah Bronson, “the Triple B is our largest fundraising event of the year. We receive no federal or state funds. Our events, volunteers and donors keep our doors open and riders in the saddle. I am humbled by the generous support of our sponsors, donors and volunteers who gave so generously of their time, talent and treasure to make this year’s Triple B the best ever.”

Founded in 1993, RTT is a Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International premier accredited center. Over 250 clients visit annually. They are assisted by horses, certified instructors and over 60 volunteers, all specially trained to assist with therapeutic riding and hippotherapy.
