AUBURN — Planet Fitness is now Orange Circuit Fitness.
The gym’s owners created the new fitness center after their franchise agreement with Planet Fitness ended.
“We’ve been in the business for a really long time, 20-something years … and just decided that, you know what, we wanted to try it independently,” general manager Laura Landry said.
Staff and equipment have largely stayed the same in Auburn. The gym is offering new membership promotions, including an all-access pass for families.
Auburn Planet Fitness memberships will continue to be honored, as will those pricing agreements.
Auburn members who had signed up for the Planet Fitness “black card” will not be able to automatically use other Planet Fitness facilities anymore, but they will have options. In some cases, Orange Circuit Fitness has arranged for a second membership at the member’s other favorite Planet Fitness location, without an enrollment fee, and then offered a low price membership at Orange in Auburn.
“So they could still use both clubs and it didn’t cost them any more,” Landry said.

With the change to Orange Circuit Fitness, Lewiston-Auburn no longer has a Planet Fitness. The closest locations are in Augusta, Brunswick and Windham.
