NORWAY —A free Thanksgiving Day dinner will be served at noon on Thursday, Nov. 27, at St. Catherine of Sienna Church Hall, 32 Paris St.
The Community Thanksgiving Dinner Committee invites people from Oxford Hills to share a meal with friends and neighbors.
A full-course dinner will be prepared and served by members of St. Catherine of Sienna Church and Christ Episcopal Church.
Guests will enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving dinner served family-style with turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and vegetables along with homemade pies for dessert.
There is no charge to attend.
The dinner follows a practice that began more than 20 years ago by a parishioner of St. Catherine of Sienna church who recognized a need in the community. She knew of several individuals who were spending Thanksgiving Day alone and invited them to her home.
This became an annual event until the number of people became too large for her to accommodate at her house. At that point she turned to St. Catherine’s Church for help.
The community dinner has become an annual Thanksgiving Day event.
