GARDINER (AP) — A new medical marijuana dispensary is set to begin operations in Gardiner.
The Kennebec Journal (http://bit.ly/12kxiyB ) reported that the Wellness Connection of Maine will open its doors next week in a 103-year-old former train station. The building has been vacant for more than a decade.
The state’s largest medical marijuana provider says it is moving its regional dispensary from Hallowell to Gardiner because of the need for a larger and more accessible location for patients. Wellness Connection also has operations in Portland, Brewer and Thomaston.
The dispensary faced some objections from residents who said they hoped the historic building could be rehabilitated for public use.
