RANGELEY — The 11th annual Mountain Holly Days sponsored by the Rangeley Lakes Chamber of Commerce will be held Thursday through Sunday, Dec. 11 to 14, in the villages of Rangeley and Oquossoc.
Participating businesses will offer special discounts, including discounts on gift certificates, promotional items, drawings, refreshments, workshops and dining specials.
This year will feature Ladies Shopping Night on Thursday, Dec. 11, and Men’s Shopping Night on Friday, Dec. 12, where area stores will offer special services such as extended evening hours, purchase advice, and gift wrapping to help customers complete their holiday shopping.
Special features of this event will be a wine tasting Thursday night, hosted by Forks in the Air Mountain Bistro, a beer tasting hosted by 45th Parallel American BBQ on Friday night and horse drawn wagon rides and bonfire sponsored by the Rangeley Lakes Regional School PTA at Haley Pond on Saturday night. Enjoy a nostalgic winter horse drawn wagon ride, cocoa and sweets; donations accepted on behalf of the PTA.
There will be three drawings: $100 in Chamber Bucks; $50 in Chamber Bucks; or a $25 Country Club Inn gift certificate.
Child care for all ages with crafts, games and activities will be available at Little Mountain School, 2 High St., on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Donations for this service will be accepted.
On Saturday, Dec. 13, the Rangeley Fire Department will host its annual Children’s Christmas Party from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Rangeley Fire Station. Stop by for pictures with Santa, a wonderful selection of toys for the children to choose from, homemade cookies and other treats, and a craft table to enjoy.
The Rangeley Lakes Builders Supply will hold a duct tape crafting workshop for children ages 7 to 99 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Demonstrations will be given and a small fee for materials will be asked if a craft is made at the workshop.
Sunrise View Farms will be hosting a box wood candle ring workshop at 1 p.m. for a small charge. Join the fun to make great gifts.
