AVON — The Phillips Community Church will also provide a time for children younger than 12 to shop for Christmas presents.

The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at the Avon Town Hall at 1116 Rangeley Road, Paul Gardiner said.

Gardiner’s wife, Barbara, helps organize the event, he said.

Although the event has been held in previous years, they began holding the event last year in memory of a dear church member, Nana Haines, he said.

Parents will be offered coffee, cocoa and doughnuts in another section of the town hall while children shop.

The gifts are donated by church members. Any funds they have are used to purchase small gifts that might be needed, especially ones for men, he said.

Phillips Community Church was formerly known as Phillips Congregational Church.
