FARMINGTON — Town employees enjoyed their annual holiday luncheon Thursday with many bringing presents for Operation Santa Claus.

The Town Office closed over the lunch hour while employees from all departments gathered, Cindy Gelinas, an organizer, said.

“We get a list of gifts from WMCA, and everyone who wants to participate can select from the list or bring a different gift,” she said.

Western Maine Community Action sponsors the annual drive to provide Christmas gifts for area children and seniors.

This year there were 400 requests to help more than 1,600 greater Franklin County residents, according to an update in the Franklin Journal.

Donations of new unwrapped gifts may be dropped off at WMCA, 20B Church St., or checks may be mailed to P.O. Box 200, East Wilton, ME 04234.
