NORTH HAVEN (AP) — A commercial ferry carrying two large trucks listed dangerously to one side after getting hit by a large wave off Rockland.

The Portland Press Herald  reported that the 91-foot ferry was a mile out from the Rockland breakwater and headed for Vinalhaven when it was hit by two large swells. The swells knocked a cement truck and boom truck up onto two wheels against the ferry’s port side, causing the ferry to list on that side.

The ferry spent two hours limping into dock at North Haven. A crane righted the boom truck but was unable to right the cement truck. The Coast Guard dispatched a ship to shield the ferry from wind and waves. The Coast Guard says the ferry made it to port. No one was hurt.
