PORTLAND (AP) — The average retail price of gas in Maine fell 8 cents per gallon in the past week to an average of $2.73 per gallon.
Website GasBuddy’s survey of 1,228 Maine gas outlets found the state’s average dropped a little less than the 8.3-cent decrease in the national average. The average nationwide price is $2.57 per gallon.
The website says prices in the state were 76.1 cents per gallon lower than the same day in 2013, compared to a drop of 67 cents nationally. Maine’s average was 26 cents lower than a month ago, compared to 33.2 cents per gallon less over the past month nationally.
