The first one-pitch softball game started just after 9 a.m.

The Minot Fire Department along with a ladder team from the Mechanic Fall Fire Department did demonstrations that included rescue victims from badly damaged vehicles. They can cut glass, car doors, remove entire car metal roofs and rescue folks trapped in multi-floor buildings.

Because of a Stephen King grant, Minot owns a portable gas engine driving a hydraulic pump which operates three hydraulic tools to include the Jaws of Life. This engine/pump unit is very lightweight and can be moved by one person. The Auburn Fire Department has the same compatible equipment.

Outdoor games included a sack race, a three-legged race, one-pitch softball games and a pie-eating contest.

The Minot Historical Society sold homemade baked beans, cole slaw and hot dogs for lunch.

The pie-eating contests were run by the historical society. Winners were Chuck Buker for adults and Bradley Gwarjanski for kids.
