FREEPORT — Wolfe’s Neck Woods State Park will offer nature programs at 2 p.m. Sundays through Jan. 25.

A First Day Hike will be offered at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 1, with free park admission for hikers. A Saturday snowshoe nature walk will be offered at 2 p.m. Jan. 31.

From Jan. 29 through Feb. 3, a ski and snowshoe trailer will be available with free rentals of snowshoes and cross country skis with park admission from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Programs start at the circle of benches at the end of the second parking lot and may include walks, talks and activities. Programs last about an hour, weather permitting.

No reservations are needed except for group use. Nature programs are free with park admission. Admission is $1 for ages 5-11; $3 for Maine residents ages 12-64; $4.50 for nonresidents ages 12-64; $1.50 for nonresidents 65 and older. Persons under 5 and Maine residents 65 and older are free. Winter in the Woods, Jan. 1: Discover the ways plants and animals survive the winter in Maine; 2 p.m.

Winter Birds at Wolfe’s Neck, Jan. 4: Discover the needs and adaptations of the park’s birds in winter; 2 p.m.

Plants Alive in a Cold World, Jan. 11: Learn the strategies of the park’s plants for surviving winter; 2 p.m.

Casco Bay Walk, Jan. 18: Views of islands and rocky shores on a one-mile walk along the Casco Bay trail; 2 p.m.

Reading Animal Tracks, Jan. 25: Add to knowledge of how the park’s animals survive winter and how to identify their tracks, for children and adults; 2 p.m.

Animals Wintering, Jan. 31:  Add to knowledge of the ways in which the park’s animals survive winter; 2 p.m.
