1921 – 2015

RUMFORD — Pat A. DeFilipp, 93, of Osgood Avenue in Mexico, died Thursday, Jan. 1, at the Rumford Community Home.

He was born in Rumford on June 13, 1921, a son of Germano and Anna (Loita) DeFilipp. He graduated from Stephens High School in Rumford, Class of 1939, and the Auburn Maine School of Commerce.

For many years, he worked as a sales tax examiner for the state of Maine, until retirement.

Pat was a communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior, St. Athanasius-St. John Church; a life member and past grand knight of Father Ambrose J. Barry Council No. 2091, Knights of Columbus; a member of Oakdale Country Club; and Gorizia Lodge No. 467, Sons of Italy, Diocesan Finance and Pastoral councils. He was a trustee for many years for the Rumford-Mexico Sewer District.

Pat was married in Rumford on Sept. 2, 1950, to Aldona M. Rasytinis, who survives of Rumford. Other survivors include a daughter, Connie McKenna and her husband, Leonard, of Rumford; a son, Patrick and his wife, Patricia, of Auburn; grandchildren, Nicholas DeFilipp and his wife, Kristyn, of Melrose, Mass., and Anna Dugal and her husband, Abe, of Salem, Mass.; great-grandchildren, Everett and Charlie; and sisters-in-law, Frances DeFilipp of Mexico and Andrea DeFilipp of Auburn.

He was predeceased by five brothers, Salvatore, Dominic, John, Joseph and Vito; and three sisters, Mary Perry, Rose Gallant and Antoinette Umbro.
