1936 – 2014

AUBURN — Juliette C. Marcotte, 78, of Lewiston died Wednesday, Dec. 31, at The Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice with her loving daughter, Julie, and her sister, Jackie, at her side.

She was born in Lewiston on June 6, 1936, a daughter of the late Alfred J. and Lucienne M. (Bosse) Cote. She was educated in local schools.

Juliette married her true love, Maurice G. Marcotte, on July 5, 1957. He predeceased her on Feb. 23, 2000.

Juliette worked for 30 years at d’Youville Pavilion in housekeeping, retiring in 1996 because of her illness; if it were not for her health, she would still be there today.

She was a member of Holy Family Church. Before her illness, she enjoyed painting, arts and crafts, crocheting, music, especially country, and playing beano. She also loved making chocolates to give to people, animals and spending time with her cat, Snuggles. She will be missed for her warm heart and willingness to give to others.

She leaves her devoted daughter and best friend, Julie Marcotte of Lewiston; a sister, Jacqueline Dube and husband, Gerry, of Lewiston; a very close friend, who was like a brother to her, Paul Tremblay and his wife, Jeannette, of Auburn; her godchild, Robert “Bob” Marcotte and wife, Laurie; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by a brother, Romeo Cote.

The family would like to send a very special thank you to Dr. Ata Letafati, the staff at St. Mary’s (ICU) and the staff at d’Youville (Rehab) for the exceptional care they gave to Juliette during her sickness. They would also like to thank the entire staff at The Hospice House for the wonderful care given to Juliette and her family in her last days.
