Breastfeeding support group meets
LEWISTON — Expectant women and breastfeeding mothers are all invited to a La Leche League meeting to be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, at 102 Bennett Ave. Babies are always welcome.
This month’s discussion will focus on “The Advantages of Breastfeeding For Mother and Baby.” Pregnancy is an ideal time to begin attending meetings, and mothers find continued attendance provides support throughout their breastfeeding experience.

Calvary to hold bean suppers
LEWISTON — Calvary Methodist Church will host a bean supper from 4:45 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 10. Use the Bartlett Street entrance.
Cost for adults is $7.50, children $3.
Suppers are held monthly.
Potluck supper, game night in Poland
POLAND — On Sunday, Jan. 11, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., “Person To Person” will hold a potluck supper and game night at Ricker Memorial Library on Maine Street (Route 26).
All are welcome. Bring a casserole or other edible to share, a favorite game to play and a friend(s) to join in the fun.

Christian Skate Night is Jan. 11
TOPSHAM — Grace Community Chapel, West Gardiner, will sponsor a Christian Skate Night from 5:45 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, at Topsham Roller World, 20 Atwood Road. Snow date is Jan. 18.
Cost is $5; in-line skates are $2 extra. Concession food is available.

Myrtle Beach show trip in April
LISBON FALLS — The Lisbon Recreation Department has a trip planned for April 18-26. It is a Diamond Tours coach trip to Charleston and Myrtle Beach area of South Carolina. It is called the Show Trip because of all the shows included in the nine-day, eight-night trip.
Travelers will attend The Alabama Theater, The Carolina Opry, Legends in Concert and the Illusions of Magic Show at the Palace Theater.
The price includes coach bus, eight hotel nights, eight breakfasts and six dinners, tips for the driver and guides, as well as all the mentioned shows and guided tours of the Charleston area. At $775, less than $100 a day, this is a trip not to be missed.

Senior Citizens Cribbage League
LEWISTON — The Lewiston Senior Citizens Cribbage League winners at the Lewiston Memorial Armory on Dec. 31 were: first, Lorraine Fillion and Gil Cote; second, Trudy Faunce and Dick Laplante; third, Roger Labbe; fourth, Cecile Bussiere and Richard Cloutier; fifth, Betty Ames and Steve Agurkis.
The next game will be played at 9 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 8.

Park Avenue Pickers set ‘Jam Session’
AUBURN — The Park Avenue Pickers have scheduled an open “Jam Session” at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, at the Auburn United Methodist Church at 439 Park Ave.
The session is open to all interested musicians. Bring any type of music you want to play … bluegrass, Gospel, blues, etc. This is open to all levels of acoustic musicians, from beginners to advanced.

CODA Chorus rehearsals resume Jan. 13
WINTHROP — The New Year is here, and CODA Chorus is beginning rehearsals for the spring concert. Under the direction of Joelle Morris and with Rebecca Caron as accompanist, CODA is a lot of fun and all are encouraged to join.
Rehearsals are held every Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Winthrop United Methodist Church.
Participants are asked to come at 6:30 on Jan. 13 to pick up music and to visit with other singers before rehearsal.

MSSupport Group reschedules party
LEWISTON — The next MSSupport Group meeting, on Wednesday, Jan. 14, at 6 p.m. will be the potluck supper and gift exchange ($10) Christmas party that was cancelled last month due to inclement weather.
The meeting will be at the Lepage Conference Center, 99 Campus Ave. The morning group is invited.
